Away From It All
The beaches on the south end have incredible sun rises and sun sets. Though only a short walk to the historic Tybee Pier and Restaurant district, the beaches here are rarely crowded. Once you arrive, there is no reason to ever have to move your car again. The southend beach also has a beautiful view of ‘Little Tybee’ a protected natural preserve and a short kayak trip away. A great family outing. Hiking on ‘Little Tybee’ is truly one of the experiences of a lifetime. Tybee Island is itself is one of the few remaining true ‘beach towns’. In addition to everything a beach offers, it also has great fun and educational activities for kids including surfing, kayaking, fishing, walking up the steps of a 1800s lighthouse, visiting civil war forts and taking guided beach walks at the marine science center. Just 20 minutes from Tybee Island, guests should also visit historic Savannah, considered by travel guides as one of the most beautiful cities in North America.
